Hey, with the great buzz Texas Chainsaw is getting, I'm putting money down on 27 million or more at Intertops for +155. I thought I should let you know it's up Oren, because I know you're predicting this movie makes close to 30 million. With the buzz score being as high as it is ... you're probably right!!! +155 is great value for this option.

yeah that might be the best bet out there for Massacre, could go over I guess. I don't know, just beccasue Freddy vs Jason made 35 million doesn't mean this ones gonna top 30.

Yeah, but I'll never forget the reaction the trailer got. All the ooohs... and aahhhs... it's very freaky. All the sick shit in the world... yeah... it's going to do good. Halloween fever has started also!!!

yeah, I heard that also, that the preview has been getting a lot of good reactions... it will do good. 26 scares me thought with the way Kill BIll only did 22 witht hat high buzz... But TCM definitely caters to a wider audience, I don't know but I took over 27 +150 at Itops.

I thought it would probably hit the high 20's, but I'm losing confidence...

Then gain some confidence on Runaway Jury and bet 18 million or more for a whopping +250.

Hey man, with John Grishem movies doing as well as they have... +250 is fantastic value.

I'm just getting into Box Office betting after losing bad on the Cubbies yesterday (not bad enough to Cover in a few bets though). I'm good at internet research which makes this kind of fun.

From what I've read, most people are putting TCM at 20-25 at most... but over 27 million I doubt. The only person who had it that high was Lees Movies. Box Office Guru predicts 18 million and everyone on the Mojo forums does not think it will surpass 25 (except for one person).

Examples of previous movies that came out around this time were The Ring, Blair Witch, and a few others... all which did not do so well. Couple that with the other good movies being in the theatres, it's NOT Halloween until next week, 7th on the Yahoo! buzz chart, and the World Series is starting... I don't think it will hit 27 million (same as American Pie!).

I'm taking UNDER 26 Million at WSEX for +115 which I think is a great bet. Olympic just posted UNDER 27 at -125 if that means anything as well.

I think this is the easiest bet this weekend... Runaway at OVER 13-14 looks tempting, but I'm not sure yet. Box Office Guru sure is high on that one though.

I took the over for Runaway Jury but I'm not convinced it's all that great of a play, but 13 is too damn low not to give it a shot IMO.

Welcome Monkey...

I thing I'll tell you for sure... no one can guess within a few million of what the box office will do. Nobody! So if they're predicitng it could hit 25 million... then it can easily go over 27 million. They all thought Freddy vs. Jason was going to do about 28 million to 30 million...and look what happened there... it did 36 million. Over 27 million, after doing my research... is a good bet. Very good with the odds Intertops is giving. Runaway Jury is a hard call because the viewers interested in that aren't going to be playing around on the internet.

ps: WELCOME ABOARD!!!

I don't know but so far the theter reports for TCM seem a ittle bit lack-luster for a movie expected to top 25 million. And Runaway Jury's reports have been good, maybe I shouldnt have hedged.

"4:25 show, 191-seater, about 70% full.

Trailers:
21 Grams - silence
In The Cut - silence
The Alamo - some whispering
Love Actually - laughs
House of Sand and Fog - a few people talked

Movie:
Certainly nowhere near the best adaptation of a Grisham film (The Client and A Time to Kill are far better), but it was entertaining enough. Strong performances were given by the four leads: John Cusack, Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, Rachel Weisz. I was pleasantly surprised at how humorous the film was - it has more jokes than you'd expect. The mostly dead crowd reacted at some of the parts intended to make you chuckle, but was pretty much silent other than that.

As I was left, not a single show of anything was sold out. I was especially surprised TXCSM wasn't - it was on 3 screens, and KBILL, OUATM and UNDRW all sold out at this theater opening night. I'm not sure if my theater is indicative of anything, but we shall see. "

best crowd report so far tonight.
